About Me

I have always had endless and ever-changing passions, but some of the most important ones at the moment are: football, cars, cinema, and programming. This project mainly focuses on the latter two.

About the Project

I often found it difficult choosing a movie to watch, sometimes spending up to 30 minutes to 1 hour searching for a movie. I would usually go through the suggested movies of popular film rating platforms looking for a highly-rated film, only to find out that I didn't like the movie plot after watching the trailer.

After looking around online, I found that many others have the same problem. They argue that the rating most often measures the popularity of the movie rather than its quality.

I wanted to create a more effective movie selection system, not based on ratings, but categorized in different groups:

• Populars: Movies we watch because they are famous or feature well-known actors or directors.
• Classics: Movies that have made history in some way or another.
• Trends: The latest published movies.
• Casuals: Movies that you might come across by chance, on social media or other parts of the web.

My focus is on the "Casuals" category, as I assume you have already watched movies in the other categories.

This project aims to facilitate your movie-search and encourage you to watch more films.
